New Health and Safety Education Standards for South Carolina

On August 8, 2017, the South Carolina Board of Education voted to make South Carolina Academic Standards for Health and Safety Education comprehensive and evidence-based. These new standards are based on revisions to the 2009 state standards and will be implemented alongside the South Carolina Comprehensive Health Education Act enacted in 1988 to ensure students receive an age-appropriate comprehensive health education program.
