Teen Parenthood in Rural America
Thursday, February 21, 2013
New research released by the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy finds 2010 teen birth rates higher in rural counties when compared to suburban counties and urban centers in the United States. While teens in rural counties only represent 16% of the total teen population in the United States, they account for 20% of teen births. Sarah Brown, CEO of the National Campaign comments, ""Clearly the need for efforts to help rural teens avoid too-early pregnancy and parenthood is great.""
