SCDJJ's Working with Latino/Latina LGBT Youth

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015 - 9:30am to 1:00pm

This training will highlight important Latina/o LGBTQ youth issues and barriers.  Participants will learn how to develop culturally responsive care for LGBT youth in our Latina/O communities.   We will discuss the unique needs of  Latino/a LGBT youth and will recommend ways to address those needs.  Participants will also learn terminology associated with Latino/a LGBT youth, as well as ways to create and organize and build successful community relationships. 

Presented by Alex Karydi (SC Department of Juvenile Justice) and Karla Briseno (Belingual Intervention Specialist at Family Intervention Services for Richland 2 School District).
