What a start to week two!

With everything else going on in the world I am a bit behind on the blog for the last few days. It's 6:30 am now so before another day comes and goes let's get caught up just a bit...

We spent Saturday in Aiken, SC at a a mother/daughter lunch sponsored by the Aiken County Teen Pregnancy Prevention Council. One of the true blessings of this Road Show has been being able to visit the awesome community based programs that we have across the state. Susan Meehan and her staff in Aiken have truly stayed the course and understand the investment in young people that is required to make a difference in teen pregnancy prevention. Thanks Susan for inviting us to Aiken - and for allowing me to be the only man in the room for lunch :-)

Monday started off with a visit to WACH Fox for their "Good Day" show. Caroline Love, Tim Miller, Ashleigh Messervy and the rest of the crew are truly friends of the SC Campaign. They are always willing to help us and more often than not are the first to call if any news on the teen pregnancy prevention front breaks. In fairness, later in the day we had an appearance on WLTX (nice to finally meet you Darci and Andrea!) and today we'll be on WIS twice. I'm looking forward to being able to thank Craig Melvin personally for his support over the years... we're certainly sad to be losing him in Columbia. Also, a quick shout-out to Keven Cohen who's afternoon drive radio show is definitely a show I look forward to going back on soon!

Last, but certainly not least we had dinner last night at the amazingly beautiful home of Judy and Jerry Davis. What a treat! Not to mention that we were surrounded by friends and supporters... Janet Sheridan (DHEC), Sentor Joel Lourie, Dr. Suzan Boyd (our former ED), Mr. Edward Sellers (Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina), Judy Davis (Board member), Dr. Mike Stout (Board member) were among the 30 or so in attendance. This group of people have truly helped to make the Campaign what it is today. We can never thank you enough!

Today is another day in the midlands which means no travel. If you read this in time join us at Liberty Tap Room in the Vista tonight (Tuesday) for a meet-and-greet. Oh and by the way, have I mentioned to any of you lately that in the midst of all of this we have two HUGE federal grants due on Friday??? Back to work...
