Halfway Point

1,157.6 - that's how far the odometer on the rental car tells me that the SC Campaign's Road Show has traveled this week! Three more events today bringing the total to 21 since Monday morning.

Today I ran into several old friends in the Upstate including Dan Jepson (one of the Campaign's founding Board members) and Mary Skeen (talk about someone who knows how to get things done). It's always nice to be among friends especially when so much progress has been made in Anderson and so many good things are going on.

Our night concluded with a visit to Fusion Warehouse in Anderson. For those of you who have never seen this place - it is awesome, impressive, amazing... words can't describe it. An old WarMart remodeled into a teen hangout. Constructive, teen-friendly, supervised activities for hundreds of teens on Friday and Saturday night. Does it get any better than that? I was blown away by this place and look forward to exploring replication efforts... every community needs a place like this for young people!

For now it's off to bed. One more event tomorrow in Aiken put together by Susan Meehan and her team for over 100 mothers / daughters. I'm counting the hours until I can get off my feet and off the road, but it will be just for a minute. We're back and full steam ahead Monday morning.
