Day 3. What a ride!

Posted 05/15/08

Whew... I just found a few minutes to sit down and tell you about yesterday. Another great day with three wonderful events. Breakfast in Newberry, lunch in Rock Hill and dinner in Chester.

I was blown away by the great work that is happening at the Teen Health Center in Rock Hill. Director Pat Kelsaw and her staff are truly doing whatever it takes to meet the needs of young people in York County... they are to be congratulated!

I have to be brief today, but also want to share a bit about the amazing dinner we had last night at the home of Sam and Kit Frazer. I have been best friends with their son Jon for almost 12 years, but haven't had many opportunities to spend time with Sam and Kit like last night. When we were looking for an event to hold in Chester they were gracious enough to open their home to us and 30 of their closest friends. Why was it important that we made a stop in Chester you ask? It's the home of Senator Linda Short - one of our longest and strongest supporters in the South Carolina Senate. We had a chance to thank her publicly for all that she has done for the youth of South Carolina. She's retiring this year and we will miss her more than words can ever express... thank you Senator Short, for everything!!

By the way, four events already today (Thursday) and one more this evening. I'll probably be back on the computer later. Talk to you then!
