The South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy believes strongly that accurate data, comprehensive research and quality evaluation standards should drive conversations around preventing teen pregnancy.  We strongly believe that it is important to not only "talk the talk," but also to "walk the walk."

Not only are local programs encouraged to use science-based approaches and research-proven programs, decisions and actions at the organizational level are informed and guided by evaluation and research – conducted and gathered at both the state and national level.  All projects and grants managed within our organization include a robust evaluation process and plan to ensure that the work produced is of the highest quality.  All local organizations with whom we work are strongly encouraged to do the same.

To this end staff from the Research and Evaluation Department devote significant amounts of time assisting program providers at the local level to ensure that evaluation procedures are in place and that outcomes are being utilized in future program planning efforts.  In this section of our website you have access to many of the training and technical assistance tools that are used in this effort.  You also have access to the most recent and detailed national, state and community level data that can assist you in targeting prevention efforts in the areas of highest need.  Through collaborations with national organizations and through research efforts conducted right here in our office you also have access to the most recent research on the critical, yet evolving, issue of teen pregnancy prevention.
