Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by ‘Our House.’ I can hardly believe that the first two months of the year have come and gone!
So, as you are settling into 2010, I want to challenge you to seize every opportunity to connect with your children around conversations about love, sex and relationships.
Why is this important? To begin, after more than a decade of declines - teen pregnancy rates are on the rise. The consequence are are serious not just for the teens, but for their children and society at large. Perhaps even more important, however, is the fact that our young people deserve our love and attention. One way we can provide it is by ensuring that they have age-appropriate, medically-accurate information to help them make responsible and informed decisions about their sexual behavior.
The sooner we start talking and teaching, the better. Don’t wait, begin today! To help you, our wonderful writers are back to share their diverse parenting experiences with you. They provide wonderful examples of interactions/conversations from along the continuum – and you’ll also enjoy a laugh or two along the way.
Thanks again for joining us. We hope these postings will encourage and enlighten you. Enjoy!
